- 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh will remain locked down from March 23 to 25: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath


- Agra, Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Varanasi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bareilly, Azamgarh, Kanpur, Meerut, Prayagraj, Aligarh, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Saharanpur will be locked down


- Buses of Uttar Pradesh Roadways will neither go out from UP nor will buses from other states will arrive to these districts


- Perform religious rituals at home, avoid visiting the temples, mosques and gurudwaras


Gorakhpur. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in the first phase, 15 districts of the state including Gorakhpur are being locked down to deal with the Corona virus. He said that the buses of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation will neither go out of UP nor the buses from other states will come here. He told that for the time being, this lockdown will remain in force till March 25.


The Chief Minister was addressing the people of the state from the Gorakshanath temple on Sunday. He said that today the campaign ‘Janata curfew’ was successfully organized in the entire state with the help of common people to protect against Corona virus. “The Janata curfew deadline is till 9pm, but my appeal is that people must not leave their homes even after that,” he said.


The Chief Minister said that we have already decided whatever necessary precautions should be taken regarding the protection against Corona. For awareness, we have installed huge hoardings, posters etc. outside every gram panchayat, school, hospital, religious places. We have already made arrangements for labourers, daily wagers, street vendors and others, he said.


The Chief Minister said that in the first phase of lockdown, those 15 districts are being locked down by the government where either the Corona virus patients have been found or they have been isolated. These include Agra, Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Varanasi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bareilly, Azamgarh, Kanpur, Meerut, Prayagraj, Aligarh, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Saharanpur.


The CM said that our 3000 four-wheelers of Uttar Pradesh Police PRV-112, and 1500 two-wheelers will help in providing safety as well as other necessary materials in the emergency within the entire state. He said that for health facilities we have 2200 of 108, 2270 of 102 and 250 advanced life support ambulances.


The CM said that from March 23 to 25, all services of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation will be completely closed. We are going to completely shut down the inter-state connectivity of Uttar Pradesh. No bus from Uttar Pradesh will go to Nepal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan or any other state. He said that the districts where people have come from Mumbai, Surat or elsewhere today and yesterday, should remain in their homes. The district administration should also make a list of such people and arrange to quarantine them.


The CM appealed to the public that people of all religions should perform the religious rituals at home. Do not perform any religious functions collectively. Avoid visiting the temples, mosques and gurudwaras. He said that during lockdown we will be able to connect all the 15 districts with sanitization and cleaning.
