My government is for every helpless person : Yogi Adityanath

• CM lays the foundation stone of 18 Atal Residential Schools on Uttar Pradesh Diwas

Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that this land of Ram-Krishna is known for its sacredness and valour." It constantly inspires us to do better. It is a matter of pride for every citizen to be here," he said, after he, along with Governor Anandi Ben Patel, inaugurated the three-day colourful programme to mark the foundation day of Uttar Pradesh in Awadh Shilp Gram here on Friday. 


The CM said that no society and nation can move forward by forgetting the past. "The glorious traditions of the past inspire us to move forward, and on the basis of past experience, we make plans to build our future," he said. He said that Uttar Pradesh has been the first cornerstone of democracy. "World's holiest river Ganga flows for the longest distance in Uttar Pradesh. The holy confluence of Ganga and Yamuna, 'Prayagraj' is here. The world's oldest city Kashi is also here," he said. He added that it is land of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Rama who gave us the concept of Ram Rajya and Lord Krishna who gave the message of 'Na dainyam na palayanam'. "Lord Buddha gave the message of peace to the entire world from here. Most Jain Tirthankaras were born in Uttar Pradesh," he said. 


"The brave heroes of the state took an active part in the freedom movement and sacrificed everything for the freedom from foreign rule. Uttar Pradesh also gave the most Prime Ministers to the country," he said.


*28 percent increase in export from ODOP*


CM Yogi said that on the first foundation day of Uttar Pradesh, we launched 'One District One Product' (ODOP) scheme. "This scheme has proved to be effective in speeding up the exports of the state. While the country's exports grew at a rate of 7 to 8 percent, Uttar Pradesh's exports grew at a rate of 28 percent," he said. He said that on the second foundation day we started the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana and today on the third foundation day, we are laying the foundation stone for the establishment of Atal Residential Schools. The Chief Minister said that public welfare is the responsibility of the government. We want to assure everyone that my government is for all those who have no support from anyone, he said.


*Players and entrepreneurs of Uttar Pradesh honoured*


The CM said that our sportspersons, who have given a new identity to Uttar Pradesh at national and international level, have been conferred with Rani Laxmibai Award and Laxman Award here. The players have been given a citation with a cheque of Rs 3 lakh 11 thousand by the Uttar Pradesh government. The state government is holding events every year to honor sportspersons. He said that we had organized Investors Summit on February 18 with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Seven entrepreneurs of the state who have invested and increased the chances of employment by taking interest in Investors Summit, have been honored.


*18 residential schools to be built on the lines of Navodaya Vidyalaya*


CM Yogi said that we are going to start 18 residential schools in 18 divisions, on the lines of Navodaya Vidyalaya, in which children of registered labourers will be provided free facilities. Students interested in sports will be encouraged in sports. Along with this, the state government will lead the students towards self-reliance through skill development. 


*Devotees more than the population of the state came to Prayagraj Kumbh*


The CM, while talking about Prayagraj Kumbh, said that people used to ask me how many devotees  would come to this event, then I used to say that it would not be less than the population of the state. As many as 24 crore 56 lakh devotees reached Prayagraj which is 1.25 crore more than the state's population.

On the occasion, Governor Anandiben Patel said that Uttar Pradesh has immense tourism potential. "The state government is on the path of development under the leadership of CM Yogi. The government is committed to the welfare of all classes without discrimination," she said. She said that revolutionaries like Chandrashekhar Azad, Ashfaq Ullah Khan and Ram Prasad Bismil were born in Uttar Pradesh, who played their role in providing freedom to the country with exceptional courage, valour and sacrifice. Uttar Pradesh is also known for its social, cultural and literary consciousness. Here writers like Kabir, Tulsi, Jayasi, Bharatendu Harishchandra, Jaishankar Prasad and Nirala were born. Poets like Josh Malihabadi, Jigar Muradabadi, Firaq Gorakhpuri, Ali Sardar Jafri, Braj Narayan Chakbast and Kaifi Azmi played their part in providing Urdu a distinct identity along with Hindi. Uttar Pradesh also has a rich tradition in the field of dance and music. Uttar Pradesh gave nine prime ministers to the country.
